Saltwater Studio Pilates is a private and small-group studio dedicated to teaching Pilates with care, precision, and personal attention. We believe Pilates is more than a workout—it's a complete system for building strength, mobility, control, and body awareness.


Our small-group equipment classes are limited to six clients, allowing for individualized instruction in a supportive group setting.


Private sessions offer a personalized experience using the full Pilates system, including the Cadillac and Ladder Barrel, to address your unique goals and movement needs.


We teach Pilates with integrity and apply it thoughtfully to each individual—whether the goal is moving better, building strength, improving performance, or simply feeling better in everyday life.

Meet Kristan

Kristan discovered Pilates in 2014 while looking for a better way to move after years of high-impact workouts that aggravated her scoliosis and left her feeling worn down. What began as a personal practice quickly became a passion, as she was drawn to the depth of the method and the fact that there is always more to learn. She completed her comprehensive 750-hour Pilates teacher training through CORE Pilates on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, under the mentorship of Katie Girardi, and is certified through Both CORE, and the National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP). Kristan continues to pursue ongoing education with respected teachers throughout the industry and is committed to providing thoughtful, high-quality instruction. As the owner and an instructor at Saltwater Studio Pilates, she is dedicated to building a team of experienced, comprehensively trained instructors who share a passion for teaching the Pilates method and helping clients move better, feel stronger, and experience the lasting benefits of Pilates in everyday life.

Ella Grace grew up on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and now lives in Birmingham, Alabama, where she is studying Biochemistry. She was first introduced to Pilates by a former ballet instructor and quickly connected with the way it made her feel — stronger, more balanced, and more aware of how her body moved. That experience led to a deeper interest in movement and wellness and eventually to completing her comprehensive Pilates certification through CORE Pilates and the National Pilates Certification Program. After teaching for more than five years, Ella’s approach has become thoughtful, personal, and centered around meeting clients where they are. Her goal is simple: to help people feel stronger, move better, and become more connected to their bodies in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Happy International Pilates Day? So grateful for what Pilates has brought into my life—and that I get to share it with you in the studio. Thankful for the mentors, teachers, and studios that keep me learning. I’m not usually on camera, but here’s a little of my own practice—Control Balance Off. Not perfect, and I’m not coming off yet… which is exactly why it’ll always be a practice for me too. International Pilates Day feels like a good reminder that this isn’t about perfection. Just showing up, doing the work, and moving a little better in the bodies we have.

The abdominals support the spine and control the pelvis as the legs reach long and extend. The movement comes from the center, not from forcing or momentum. Through the upper body, the shoulders and back provide stable support, keeping the chest open and the body lifted rather than sinking into the carriage. One Year of Saltwater Studio Pilates ? One year in business (plus 22 days — who’s counting?) and I’m feeling really grateful. Somewhere between running a small business, teaching Pilates, and mom life, the days quietly slipped by — so here we are celebrating a little late. It’s been such a privilege for us to have taught over 4,000 incredible clients, and for me to have personally led 991 classes this past year. I’ve gotten to see a lot of real change — not just in bodies, but in confidence, patience, and the effort you bring every time you show up. I’ve watched clients go from barely finding balance on the floor to holding front splits on the Reformer. I’ve seen people of all ages and stages of life build strength and stability, golfers add yards to their drive, athletes learn the value of slowing down, teens develop body awareness and control, and so many of you carve out time just to take care of yourselves. Every body, every journey, every small win has mattered. You really are the heart of this studio, and I’m so thankful for you. As a new(ish) resident of Bluffton, getting to know each of you has made this place feel like home. My hope has always been that when you walk through the doors, you feel welcome and comfortable here. That in the time we share together — whether it’s once a week or more often — you feel encouraged in this space. Thank you for trusting us with your bodies, your time, and your stories. Thank you for showing up, for trying, for laughing, and for growing — and for SMILING at me while we do all the fun things ?.
